Our Staff
AlexAnn (she/her/hers) is the Director of Our Community Birth Center. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife and was a former midwife at the Nurse Midwifery Birth Center in Springfield and the Lane County Charnelton Prenatal Clinic in Eugene. AlexAnn grew up in Lane County and is passionate about building sustainable birth center services with equitable access to care for Lane County families for generations to come. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon and Oregon Health & Sciences University. She is also the parent of one child born with midwife assistance in 2016.
Elena (she/her/hers) is the Development Coordinator of Our Community Birth Center. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon and is currently completing her master’s degree in Business Administration with a Non-Profit Leadership concentration. She has spent years working and volunteering in the non-profit sector. Although originally from California, she moved to Eugene, Oregon in 2010. She is a proud pet parent and loves spoiling her 10 nieces and nephews. Read more about Elena on our blog.
Melinda (she/her/hers) is the Operations Coordinator of Our Community Birth Center. Melinda helps schedule appointments and ensures smooth operations of our clinic and birth center facility. She completed her education as a medical assistant through Lane Community College and has worked in healthcare for 29 years. Melinda enjoys spending time with her family, reading and taking walks with her dog. Orna (she/her/hers) is a Birth Assistant at Our Community Birth Center. Orna also works as a Registered Nurse in both Labor and Delivery and Postpartum at a local hospital and has been honored to attend over 150 births in that role. Orna is passionate about bonding-centered birth, and is excited to be pursuing that passion as a Nurse-Midwifery student at Frontier Nursing University. When she isn’t juggling work and school, Orna enjoys gardening projects, cuddling her sweet pup, and getting out into Oregon’s wilderness.
Pauline (she/her/hers) is a Birth Assistant for Our Community Birth Center. Pauline has been in the nursing profession since 2012. She currently works as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department of a local hospital. Pauline grew up in the Eugene area and continued her studies at Lane Community College to pursue her nursing career. She has had three babies in this community, one of which was a birth center baby. Pauline is passionate about supporting families with natural birth.
